They've gotten to be really trendy recently and I love 'em. We even had a photo booth at our wedding reception last fall! The company that ran the booth offered the option of having all the strips from the night printed and compiled into a scrapbook matching our wedding colors. Swoon. :)<br />
<br />
At the wedding of our dearest friends last month, we popped in and out of a similar booth quite a few times throughout the night and I wanted to make sure I documented the strips rather than leaving them hang on the fridge. Though I've printed my fair share of fun photo strips over the years since junior high, I've never attempted to scrap them. So...I turned to Pinterest for some guidance. I found myself inspired by several layouts, but this one stood out to me the most:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/0f/a0/3c/0fa03ca42b3ab17d0cf71d92ac456602.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/0f/a0/3c/0fa03ca42b3ab17d0cf71d92ac456602.jpg" /></a><br /><i>From my beloved-but-discontinued favorite magazine, Scrapbooks Etc., 2011.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I loved the way the strips were placed in a jagged form, with a somewhat uniform patterned paper behind and loads of ephemera all on one side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's what I came up with:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/0456773ef09d11e2924b22000aaa05e0_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/0456773ef09d11e2924b22000aaa05e0_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since I am working on a scrapbook album that is made up of ONLY Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection (my favorite ever), it was easy to choose my color scheme and appropriate embellishments. This was a lot of fun. Thanks for reading along with me. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

xoxo,</div>

<br />
Scrapbooking is what really opened the major door to crafting for me, in 2003, when I was 17 (!). Since then, I've run into some major scrap-roadblocks, mostly due to my fear of lack of organization. Confession: I can't stand the thought of completing a page or Scrapbook, only to discover later that I documented something inaccurately or in the wrong order. I mean, I obsess over the order of photos down to the week, day, even hour and minute as far as sequence. It's ridiculous. This has become a huge creative handicap for me, causing me to never really finish my scrapbooks.<br />
<br />
Is that crazy? 10 years and not one real finished album to show for it. Oy. :(<br />
<br />
We got married last October, and I told myself that day would be the official end to me putting off documenting because of this fear. I'm struggling with it for sure, but I am also getting back into scrapping (both 6x6 and 12x12) and I could not be more thrilled! I am happy to report that I had a day free from work the other day and had a scrapbook marathon day.. I completed quite a few pages, both large and mini, and even tried some new techniques! Here are some peeks at my 12x12 pages, complete with a technique I finally got brave enough to try: ink misting/masking!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
Thanks so much for reading along. I hope I can be of some help or inspiration to someone else who struggles with the business end of scrapbooking, too. Just try to remember it doesn't have to be perfect (perfect is such a terrible word). At the end of the day, if you enjoy looking at the art you've created - and at least know the people in the photos and a rough year ;) - you've accomplished great things! Until next time..<br />
<br />
HAPPY SCRAPPING!!<br />

I also got some dew drop ink pads, twine, and mini alpha stickers. I was really inspired to put the new things to use, and came up with a card I am just in love with. Isn't that fun to say when it's about something you've made with your own two hands? :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws.com/06ec1ad6bd0711e2b36e22000a1fa437_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws.com/06ec1ad6bd0711e2b36e22000a1fa437_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mini Ombre Hearts</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage4.s3.amazonaws.com/dc2c4f32bd0111e293fe22000a1fcb64_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage4.s3.amazonaws.com/dc2c4f32bd0111e293fe22000a1fcb64_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Before I knew I what I wanted to actually create, my workspace looked something like this. It began because I wanted to try out my new Sketches (BG13, BG18, + B29). The blue I purchased is not one recommended to blend with the others I have from that color family, so I wasn't expecting great results. As I blended them I thought, <i>Why not test my cute little heart punch and see how they blended? </i>I was giddy over the result, a bright, bold, vibrant blue just screaming out. I just love with when a happy little accident happens like this. I decided to blend a few other colors combos, and by the time I was done doing that and punching them out, I had a load of cute itty bitty hearts on my desk. I added a Lawn Fawn sentiment in probably my favorite font ever, some of my new gold maya road twine, and voila. I'll be keeping this on my shelf so I can oogle at it for awhile. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made 2 other minis:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage1.s3.amazonaws.com/8f17d2b0bd0711e2980e22000ae90a1f_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage1.s3.amazonaws.com/8f17d2b0bd0711e2980e22000ae90a1f_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Using Here's the Scoop)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you'll feel inspired to put your new items to use right away, no matter the comination. Make something you love!</div>

As much as I love trying new techniques, I love having staples like some of these to fall back on. There's a reason they've stayed popular!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage11.s3.amazonaws.com/888520eeb78311e2bdf822000a1fa51c_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage11.s3.amazonaws.com/888520eeb78311e2bdf822000a1fa51c_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I trimmed scrap from my stash to 3.75" x 2" in peach, mint, and light yellow. I ran them through the Cuttlebug using my first and trusty-dusty Swiss Dots folder. I punched the bottom of each layer using the EK Success border punch "Bumpy Road", and adhered each one with a strip of ATG adhesive only at the very top. Once there were adhered down, I sort of <i>flipped</i> the bottom of each layer outward to give it some depth.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
On a white scalloped circle, I stamped my image in London Fog ink and colored it using R22, G00 and Y21. No shading this time. I adhered it with a large, thick foam square and over the top I used Bundled Sage and Mustard Seed Distress Stickles.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally, on the topmost (yellow) layer, I stamped a sentiment from Grand Greetings in New Sprout ink and tied a bow using yellow Doodletwine. Voila!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks so much for stopping by! I so appreciate your comments, questions, and subscriptions! ;)</div>

I'm thrilled to be involved in my second Lawnscaping Challenge, and to be sharing it with you! The theme of this challenge is "Bling It" -- to add sparkle via Stickles, Glitter, Shimmer, or whatever type of sparkle you want. You can view the challenge <a href="http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com/2013/05/lawnscaping-challenge-57.html" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
Though I love Stickles and use them on many projects, I use them in pretty small doses, and usually 'clear' colors like Diamond or Crystal. I decided this Challenge would be a great opportunity for me to think outside of my own little box! For the Sparkle elements, I used sequins, rhinestones, and 3 different Stickles. Here is what I came up with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage10.s3.amazonaws.com/0f5ac7c6b6c211e28c4722000a9f1966_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage10.s3.amazonaws.com/0f5ac7c6b6c211e28c4722000a9f1966_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage8.s3.amazonaws.com/4d79e186b6c211e2a6b722000a1fc7c5_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage8.s3.amazonaws.com/4d79e186b6c211e2a6b722000a1fc7c5_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This was such a fun card for me to make because I know the recipient, my sweet mama, will appreciate every inch of it. Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate all comments + subscriptions! Happy crafting! :)<br />

Hello. :) I was really lousy at being productive this evening, but I did manage to get this card done. I picked up this Paper Smooches stamp set a couple weekends ago at Happy Paper Pusher when I was taking my Lawn Fawn Class - more on that later.. :) I have desperately delayed buying my first Paper Smooches stamp set for quite some time, because I love Lawn Fawn so much, and definitely DO NOT need to get hooked on another adorable series of images. However, I couldn't resist this set. I have a feeling I'll be experiencing more Paper Smooches in the future. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage10.s3.amazonaws.com/6bf83e68ac7811e2947622000a9e138b_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage10.s3.amazonaws.com/6bf83e68ac7811e2947622000a9e138b_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I began by stamping the easel and sentiment in versamark and embossing with black powder using my heat tool. Once it cooled, I fussy-cut out the easel. I colored the wood in with Copics and gave the "canvas" area some shading. I set it aside.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next, I stamped the easel again, lightly, in the middle of a piece of white cardstock. I stamped the paint splat in rainbow colors all around the easel image until I was satisfied with the mess. :) I adhered the embossed + colored easel down with rolled Glue Dots, directly on top of the second stamped easel. I adhered the white cardstock to some blue scrap to create a card, and finished with some baker's twine secured by notched I punched.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love love love how colorful and cheerful this card turned out! Thanks so much for reading along with me... Happy crafting. :)</div>

<br />
This past weekend we celebrated my dear friend Amanda's bridal shower! I'm so excited to celebrate the upcoming wedding of 2 of my best friends! :) The four of us bridesmaids all worked together to pull off a beautiful yellow and grey themed shower on Sunday.<br />
<br />
I didn't get as great of photos as I had hoped, but here's what I was able to somewhat capture of the crafty stuff -- the banner, food labels, and a keepsake box with notecards.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage9.s3.amazonaws.com/eb3bcad2aaed11e2a82b22000a9f1408_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage9.s3.amazonaws.com/eb3bcad2aaed11e2a82b22000a9f1408_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
For the banner, I spelled out "bride to be" using my Cricut and Cindy Loo Cartridge with deep grey cardstock. I used the George + Basic Shapes cartridge to cut out 2 hearts. (Good old George - it seems so plain but always manages to come in handy!) I adhered the accented letters and shapes to yellow and grey cardstock cut to 6x6" square pennants using liquid glue. I used a ribbon punch to punch two holes in each square-shaped pennant, and finally, began weaving grey grosgrain ribbon through each slit. I love love love the finished product! The colors were perfect and it hung beautifully on the mantle! (Do you spy the gorgeous lemon centerpieces??)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/8ec58fb8aaed11e2b46022000a1fb37a_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/8ec58fb8aaed11e2b46022000a1fb37a_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
For the Vegan-Friendly food labels, I cut some nice thick yellow cardstock to 3x3". I scored it at 1.5" and folded it in half. Using Lawn Fawn's Smitty's ABC's, I spelled out "Vegan Friendly" and stamped it on all the of the mini cards in pretty grey London Fog ink. Next, I punched some hydrangeas in the dark grey cardstock. I rolled them petals, layed the flowers using liquid glue, and adhered one to each card. Once they were dry, I used Platinum Liquid Pearls to add a subtle and pretty center to each bloom. I loved these! The bride did too, and wants to repeat using them at the wedding. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/463aaf9eaaed11e286a022000a9e06e7_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/463aaf9eaaed11e286a022000a9e06e7_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Finally, as a keepsake for the bride, I make a "Shower Memories" box and lots of notecards for all the guests to record a memory or advice on. To begin, I painted a kraft box and lid with yellow acrylic paint - I did 2-3 coats to get a good even color. I created a flower using grey cardstock and Tim Holtz' Tattered florals die. (This brought back QUITE the memory of my own wedding, just 6 months ago, for which I die cut and embellished hundreds of the Tattered Florals by hand for my reception centerpieces. A labor of love and totally worth it!) I added a bit of Tea Dye distress ink for dimension, and finished the center with a pretty yellow October Afternoon button and grey baker's twine from Doodlebug. I stamped a vintage lady in London Fog on ivory cardstock and added Mustard Seed Distress Stickles to her dress. After cutting her out, I adhered her and the flower next to one another on the lid of the box. I adhered a strip of dainty grey lace along the bottom, and wrote "Shower Memories" in silver metallic Sharpie. This was a lot of fun and I was pleased with the finished product!<br />
<br />
Finally, I had lots of fun creating a variety of cards for guests to write on. I cut them to various sizes, and decorated them with a variety of stamps, punches, border punches and washi tapes. I hope the almost Mrs. had fun reading over them! <3 p=""><br />
Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you have and questions, comments or requests just let me know. Happy crafting!<br />
xoxo,<br />

I'm so happy to be participating in the Lawnscaping Challenge, "Inspired By". You can find the challenge <a href="http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com/2013/04/lawnscaping-challenge-56.html" target="_blank">here</a>!<br />
<br />
Here is the card I made for this challenge:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage9.s3.amazonaws.com/ce488b40a6fb11e2b13b22000a9e0790_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage9.s3.amazonaws.com/ce488b40a6fb11e2b13b22000a9e0790_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest (you can see it <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/63126558@N07/8539254939/in/pool-lawnfawn" target="_blank">here</a>). I loved the way a LF backdrop was used so subtly, the glitter "sprinkles" on the ice cream, and the simplicity of the sentiment. These are the elements I tried to carry over into my own project!<br />
<br />
Believe it or not, in 10 years of crafting, I've never actually made my own window-style card. I was excited to experiment with that while completing this challenge. FUN!<br />
<br />
Thanks so much for reading!<br />
xoxo<br />

<br />
We've had some beautiful weather this week and I got to take advantage of an afternoon in the backyard. I was feeling inspired to spruce up something for the craft room, so I decided to transform my Stickles Storage.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/proxy/AVvXsEhY8mXqnM43Zv8zttav00VW0fG2XBZDZEj54gTJjO6VigjgECj7jp8OZ2_2AoAcmp9Czv4JZLawxx6eHmTX9Pki0xxx8GglaQkRUMUi8MiqQ56aN8m_kRyr9DS3ueq4BvQCkiZS16vPgZaQDgY4CmFrZe3Xk7n8U14ZzXuCqFPoWJKxg09KHUfm8abFDikwpg=" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/proxy/AVvXsEhY8mXqnM43Zv8zttav00VW0fG2XBZDZEj54gTJjO6VigjgECj7jp8OZ2_2AoAcmp9Czv4JZLawxx6eHmTX9Pki0xxx8GglaQkRUMUi8MiqQ56aN8m_kRyr9DS3ueq4BvQCkiZS16vPgZaQDgY4CmFrZe3Xk7n8U14ZzXuCqFPoWJKxg09KHUfm8abFDikwpg=" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I found this little Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit trinket shelf at a flea market in college a few years ago. It sat dusty and unused for a few years, until I got married and got my own craft space! It has served as the perfect showcase and storage spot for all my fun Stickles.<br />
<br />
If you know me, you know that I love color, so I really wanted to do some transforming, but without losing the charm that attracted me to the piece in the first place. I love the Peter Rabbit medallion on the top, the little drawers (though they do not open), and the dainty blue and rosebud wallpaper. It looks like it belongs in a dollhouse! I used some standard Hobby Lobby paintbrushes (25 for $4.99, and they're amazing quality - seriously!!!) and basic yellow acrylic paint. It took about 3 coats and dried very quickly in the sunshine. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/proxy/AVvXsEguyYgFD4k1LAE-CyvBkQ9GE1Ss-IJvtEzbY7WMsDGQcizx0sVJn3jjo7KG52riUZ0vlOV8rfFXJNu4SB-XtGe3dtExQp_Uqlzp8gAT6ujL0Eb6EWSe5WcGH7LodoA9hcguSIbO3EZOXf2XLmzi9av02ueQukBHLWLSDSsF1a-KnysU1R8oPMxrN_BZ8avcWQ=" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/proxy/AVvXsEguyYgFD4k1LAE-CyvBkQ9GE1Ss-IJvtEzbY7WMsDGQcizx0sVJn3jjo7KG52riUZ0vlOV8rfFXJNu4SB-XtGe3dtExQp_Uqlzp8gAT6ujL0Eb6EWSe5WcGH7LodoA9hcguSIbO3EZOXf2XLmzi9av02ueQukBHLWLSDSsF1a-KnysU1R8oPMxrN_BZ8avcWQ=" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I am so grateful to have an area to take advantage of my love for art and creativity, so even a change as small as this to my crafty nook is very exciting to me.<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading!<br />

I'm thrilled with my latest preschool project for our butterfly-themed week, so I wanted to share it. I created this sorting game using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch, purple cow laminator, cardstock in ROYBV, scotch tape, and a bead organizing tray from hobby lobby. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/proxy/AVvXsEhPHO6pKb0Lm_85QVB5Y-jbNJEdit9etElzaZ4yX6v-pUY2TF6LZGFd0Fch0OHPv5sAvMvBhzjsH4dVHteE2qINZ24IHSpIYtcetCOTakEY4XwgzrbJqlwXaGz2V05IyO-CDU82Ys4Lg7XkVkNry5_lGksDDJw-9nt3AaCEUCE1KO6H6yyfzJAzEiF2jnyntg=" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/proxy/AVvXsEhPHO6pKb0Lm_85QVB5Y-jbNJEdit9etElzaZ4yX6v-pUY2TF6LZGFd0Fch0OHPv5sAvMvBhzjsH4dVHteE2qINZ24IHSpIYtcetCOTakEY4XwgzrbJqlwXaGz2V05IyO-CDU82Ys4Lg7XkVkNry5_lGksDDJw-9nt3AaCEUCE1KO6H6yyfzJAzEiF2jnyntg=" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I cut strips approximately 1x3" in each color and adhered them down with tape to the bottom of each section. I punched 10 butterflies out of each color and laminated them, then fussy-cut them out. The kids in our class LOVE sorting so I. Have a feeling they will enjoy it as much as I did!<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading!<br />

Tonight I was inspired to pull out some products/techniques I haven't used in awhile. Here is a card I made this evening using some oldies but goodies!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/22e1d99a9e5f11e2900c22000a1fb715_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage6.s3.amazonaws.com/22e1d99a9e5f11e2900c22000a1fb715_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I began by choosing some nice solid image rubber stamps - in this case, Three Silhouettes by Hero Arts. I mixed some inks (wild honey, milled lavender and victorian velvet) with some water from a mini mister. I stamped all three stamps in a random pattern onto smooth white cardstock cut to 3.75 x 5.25". Once I covered the entire paper, I used a paintbrush to splatter the three ink mixtures from my craft mat. When I was finished, it looked like this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage7.s3.amazonaws.com/e050f5569e5a11e2bdf822000a1fa51c_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage7.s3.amazonaws.com/e050f5569e5a11e2bdf822000a1fa51c_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used an ink blending tool to cover the entire paper with antique linen distress ink. I LOVE the look of this ink blended over the light lavender color!<br />
<br />
Next, to add the dramatic flair I wanted to acheive, I pulled some HUGE Heidi Swapp flowers out of my stash. I've had them for awhile - checked the copyright date to find 2002. :) About time I put them to use! Though I was seeking drama, the flower was actually TOO large to fit, so I trimmed it in have with some precision scissors. I adhered it down smoothly using my ATG. The flower was the perfect addition to my feminine card...it's so fun pulling out older products and putting them to use! I added some Rock Candy distress stickles to the petals for a muted sparkle.<br />
<br />
On top of the flower I wanted a sentiment. I chose "lovely" from Hero Arts' Heyday Sentiments. I stamped it on white cardstock using Jenni Bowlin's Malted Milk ink. I trimmed it into a half banner and blended some more antique linen ink on top. Finally, I used some Buttercup Liquid Pearls to make random and various sized pearls around the sentiment and center of the flower.<br />
<br />
I had a lot of fun working with the watercolor technique I hadn't tried in awhile, and some products that had gotten dusty. Thank you so much for reading along with me!<br />
<br />
Happy crafting! I hope you create something beautiful today.<br />
xoxo<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I began with a pre-cut, pre-scored kraft A2-sized card. I stamped a Hero Arts wood mount stamp* using my Stamp-a-ma-jig and Memento Rich Cocoa ink. The stamp-a-ma-jig made it super easy to line up the lady just as I wanted her.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next I used the same ink to stamp some Lawn Fawn stamps onto Sweet Blush cardstock. The banner is from Home Sweet Home, and the sentiment is a freebie that Lawn Fawn sent to me when I ordered from them. (!) I cut out the banner using my Cutterbee scissors and popped it up on foam adhesive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally, I wrapped the card length-wise with 3-4 layers of pink Doodlebug baker's twine. The whole process was stress-free, fun, and I love the final look. Hurray! I love when that happens. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks SO much for reading. Please comment if you have any questions or requests.</div>

xoxo,</div>

<i>* I don't know the actual name of this stamp. It is by Hero Arts, and is a wood mount stamp. The image of the lady in it is also included in a HA Acrylic set, called "Sew Stylish".</i></div>

I'm on Spring Break from preschool, and along with household projects, I've been squeezing in some craft time. :-D<br />
<br />
I've done <strike>some</strike> most of the work on this mini album of our kitten, Olive. I'm a self-professed Crazy Cat Lady, and couldn't resist documenting her first months with this itty-bitty Maya Road album.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/zv4mSBwxKOc?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
<br />
Often times it's easy to say, "here's what I used to create this", and supply a bulleted list of products. Really, for this I used a TON of different products - I pulled out lots of different brands and themes all to attain the hodge-podge look I wanted to achieve. Here are most of them:<br />
<br />
<i>* various 6x6 patterned papers from: Cosmo Cricket (Matilda, Odds & Ends, Material Girl); American Crafts (Dear Lizzy Neapolitan); Lawn Fawn (Dewey Decimal); Sassafrass (Count Me In); Basic Grey (Picalilly).</i><br />
<i>* Buttons (October Afternoon)</i><br />
<i>* Papertrey Ink perfect match cardstocks (Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart, Hibiscus Burst)</i><br />
<i>* various premium ribbons by American Crafts</i><br />
<i>* Element stickers from: Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic, Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper, Basic Grey</i><br />
<i>* various pearls, gems and sequins from my stash</i><br />
<i>* tools: Crop a Dile; Corner Chomper (3/8"); QuikStik; Cutterbee scissors; ATG; This to That dot adhesive; foam dot adhesive; Memento London Fog pen.</i><br />
<br />
Thanks so much for reading/watching! I thank you, and Olive thanks you. ;)<br />
xoxo<br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt;">Hello, valentines!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt;">My husband and I
celebrated our FIRST MARRIED VALENTINE'S DAY last weekend - out of town at a
Cheesecake Factory, and of course some pitstops at Archiver's, Target, and so
on... :)<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage5.s3.amazonaws.com/3f89be9c772611e28e0922000a9f1335_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://distilleryimage5.s3.amazonaws.com/3f89be9c772611e28e0922000a9f1335_7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt;">Here is the card I
made for my husband! I began by misting some white cardstock with the Dewey
Mister Huey and the Chevron mask. I tied some grey baker's twine from Jillybean
Soup around it into a bow, and used my ATG to adhere it to some Papertrey Ink Lavender
Moon cardstock. I tilted a polaroid sticker from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan
sticker book, and added clear gemstones. I wanted them to have a sort of
cascading look, so I used 4 or 5 different sizes, with the largest at the top
and mixing them around with the itty bitties down at the bottom. I love it when
you come up with a design idea in your head, make it come to life, and actually
like the way it turns out!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt;">I also made
Valentine's for my mom and dad, but already delivered them, so I have no
pictures. :( Dropped the ball! Maybe a #laterblog... I think I just made that
term up.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt;">Thanks for reading,
and happy, HAPPY Valentine's day to you!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Hello! I'm here to share the first of a short series of mini-valentines I am creating this year. First up is one for my brother!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I began by creating my own patterned paper, using Studio Calico Mister Huey's and their chevron mask. I am a little late on this spritzing bandwagon, but I am loving experimenting with them! I ordered them a looooong time ago from Peachy Cheap and they've just been sitting in my craft room looking pretty..until now! I love the soft result I got when I used this Tiffany-ish blue (obsessed with that color) on white cardstock. I trimmed a 2 7/8" square.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After it dried, I adhered the misted paper to a 3x3" card I trimmed and scored out of some nice thick Papertrey Ink Spring Moss cardstock.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next, I stamped both paper airplanes to Bazzill Basics Coconut Swirl cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I trimmed them with my cutterbee scissors and colored some accent lines with Copic CG1.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did some direct stamping onto the patterened paper for the flying lines and the exterior sentiment - I stamped all in Memento London Fog. because there was no elipses stamp, I used my Memento marker in the same color to add some to the end of my sentiment. I added the airplanes on foam adhesive. Finally, I added some washi tape for some texture. I did the same direct stamping and washi tape techniques on the interior.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've got a few more Valentines to make, so stop back in! Thanks for reading. :)</div>

<br />
I've been working on our honeymoon scrapbook! I decided to use a Smashbook to document our honeymoon, mostly because I kept SO MANY little scraps, ticket stubs, and business cards along the way, and Smashing makes it so easy to use these details. LOVE them!!<br />
<br />
I began by printing 172 photos. Ha! I then organized them with all the memorabilia from our trip and matched each thing to a page. This is my fifth Smashbook, and the first one that I have done this much organizing for (because I LOVE the freedom that comes with not organizing them!)<br />
<br />
The book is really just in it's beginning stages, but I decided to add a few photos here on my blog. I'm trying this thing where I blog more often... :) Once it is finished, I'll probably make a video of a flip-through to really show all the details.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
I wanted to share these frames that I crafted for our bedroom! I think I first started noticing the trend of "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" art for bedrooms around 2009. I love the idea, but knew that of course I would want to make my own -- I was later inspired by this <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/75576099966377703/" target="_blank">pin.</a> (It was one of my first pins ever!) I also really liked the idea of also framing "always kiss me good morning" - <i>if you're ending each day with love, why not also begin that way? :)</i><br />
<br />
After we were married, I began to explore materials I wanted to use -- both those that I already owned and also an excuse to get new things from Archiver's ;) ... and here is what I came up with!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
his:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicrc2Xd2FWy-vBNF2kj63pxp4zYBqPqJMAQ_4e0oCnj3c1GHZFOkUHoDLD2ZZtpeAV41DxT56uFVku_zSClRlI9WjO3ywMKONx3ducC98YSWu4VVCXAAphzGqegfpM8l5UdhXi6H-dXePF/s1600/bedrframeJAN13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicrc2Xd2FWy-vBNF2kj63pxp4zYBqPqJMAQ_4e0oCnj3c1GHZFOkUHoDLD2ZZtpeAV41DxT56uFVku_zSClRlI9WjO3ywMKONx3ducC98YSWu4VVCXAAphzGqegfpM8l5UdhXi6H-dXePF/s320/bedrframeJAN13.jpg" width="320" /></a> </div>

<br />
Finished this card today for a baby shower next weekend! I punched three 1.5" circles using a Fiskars punch. I stamped a different image onto each one, along with custom punny-phrases! I wish I could take all the credit for the pun, but I must admit that I was insprired by an example of someone else's - I believe somewhere on Pinterest. I've been waiting for a baby to come along so I could make someone a card with this fun sentiment!<br />
<br />
I colored each image in using Copics and added Stickles (duh). A border punch, some bakers twine and cute patterned paper and voila! I'm actually way over-simplifying the description of my process, but those are the basics. :)<br />
<br />
How cute is that lime green bakers twine? I found a HUGE roll of it at TJ Maxx - love that place!<br />

I wanted to share this mini card I made a sweet little 2 year old I know. She is having her tonsils out and we know she'll need some cheering up.<br />
<br />
I worked in 2 different Hallmark shops for about 5 years, and always had first chances for lots of goodies. Something I stocked up on were these mini cards with ribbon intended to be attached to gifts. I have used them for that, but I decided to experiment and make a mini. I love how it turned out!<br />
<br />
I was so excited to receive Critters Ever After from Lawn Fawn! Congrats to LF on being featured in People via Zooey Deschanel! Love 'em both.<br />
<br />
I stamped the unicorn, along with the mini heart, onto white cardstock. I colored it with Y, V, CG, and RV variety copics and went over the details with Glam Pink, Yellow, and Crystal Stickles. I did some quick-cutting around it and popped it up on thick foam squares. I stamped a sentiment from On The Mend in Jet Black Archival ink, and punched mini stars along the bottom. To fill the stars, I used Berry Sorbet cardstock from Papertrey Ink and added Tropical Tangerine Stickles. The final touch was some purple bakers twine from Doodlebug & Co.<br />
<br />
I love making minis! Thanks so much for reading!<br />
Xoxo,<br />

I'm really happy to share my experience at the Papertrix class this past weekend.<br />
<br />
In short, I had a BLAST! It was so exciting to meet <a href="http://nettersnotables.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Lynette</a>, who is a member of the Lawn Fawn design team. I attended both of the classes she taught and learned some fun Lawn Fawn and Copic details. I am crazy for these stamps (they are really the only stamps I buy any more), and am still learning when it comes to Copics. I learned some great tips and techniques.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lynette & me</div>
<br />
I also got to meet a few other nice ladies during my 2 classes -- it's always nice to make a new friend, but doubly so when they are crafty. I love being able to all sit around a table and talk about blending inks, smeared Stickles, Tim Holtz and Kelly Marie...and everyone knows exactly what you're talking about! It was my pleasure to meet and visit with Cheryl, who works at Papertrix. She even made a really sweet post about our fun day! Check out her blog <a href="http://cherylkaybennett.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />

<br /></div>
On to the projects! I am fiddling with learning to post from my cell phone, so I will post the photos at the very end...because right now that's the only way I know how. :)<br />
<br />
In Class 1 we created two cards and a tag. The first card featured Making Frosty Friends, the second used Winter Owl, and the tag featured Winter Fox.<br />
<br />
Also in Class 1, I won the door prize! I never have luck at things like that, so I was SO surprised and felt so lucky! My door prize included Let it Snow stamp set, And a Partridge stamp set, Fa La La petite paper pack, and a black ink pad. YAY!<br />

I'm back! :) Thank you for sticking with me through my absence from the blog world. <br />
<br />
Josh and I were married in our church on October 20, 2012. We had the most beautiful and perfect day anyone could ever dream of.. Everything went off without a hitch, making all of the hard work and worry well worth it in the long run. We are so blessed. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our wedding was 100% purple and *almost* 100% DIY. :) I handmade almost everything -- our invitations, bouquets, boutonnières and corsages, centerpieces, decorations, place cards, and designed the save the dates and programs as well. I hope to share photos and details of how I made these things once I get a bit more settled in to my new home! :) <br />
<br />
Thanks so much for being a follower of my little corner of the blog world... It means a lot. See you real soon!<br />
<br />
Xoxo,<br />
