here i am!

Hey there! Remember that time I didn't blog for over 6 months? Yikes! I am still here - and still crafty. :) I haven't posted much of anything recently because almost every craft I have been doing has been for our upcoming wedding - just 2 months from today! I can't post photos of these until after the wedding, but I'm taking lots of great pictures so I can do some focused posts after we're Mr. and Mrs. :)

I do have a YouTube Channel that I update slightly more frequently than the blog right now. I have even gained a few followers - yay! Thank you so much!

I must say that I am an instagram-a-holic (just made that word up), and post stuff to there several times daily. Any craftiness I get my hands into right now is uploaded there instantly! Find me at emilyelisabeth20.

Happy New Year!

Welcome, 2012! I'm not a big pursuer of New Year's Resolutions, but one thing that I would like to make an effort to more of beginning this New Year, is to scrapbook more. Sounds crazy, I know.

I've been a "scrapbooker" for nearly 10 years now, but haven't done any in QUITE some time -- I mostly make cards. I've noticed recently that it's as if I'm waiting around on "life" to happen in order to have something "worth" documenting - when it's exactly the opposite. It's almost as if I'm treating this period of my life like it's insignificant, when it is so important! Sure, it's great to document birthdays, weddings, and holidays, but I feel that it's even better to record those everyday moments. I guess I feel that those are what really define who we are, and they will be what paints an accurate picture of us years from now when our grandchildren's grandchildren are looking through our books many moons from now.

Finally -- 30th Birthday Cards (Part 1)

Hurray -- my brother's birthday is here and I can finally post the videos of the cards I made for him! (Not that I assume he peruses my craft blog -- but I didn't want to take a chance on spoiling any surprises)!

Sympathy Card + Video

Here is a sympathy card I made using the Cindy Loo cartridge. In case you haven't checked it out, this cartridge features loads of pretty and delicate flowers and flourishes. They're really versatile and can be used for lots of things, which can be great when you're stumped.

I'm still really new to this video thing, so they're nothing outstanding but they get my point across!



Recipe:
- Cream A2 card
- Flower2 cut at 3 3/4"
- tea dye & vintage photo ink
- black satin ribbon (3/8") by ribbon boutique
- patterned paper -- circa 1934 (Cosmo Cricket)
- golden rod stickles
- sentiment by stampendous
